Big Nate: Mr. Popularity is another part of the comic series titled Big Nate. It tells the story, with more than 300 illustrations, of the detention king and cartooning genius, Nate Wright in addition, there is a section that features various activities at the back of the book.
Big Nate is back and this time he is Mr. Popularity in this issue, Big Nate decides to run for Class President. However, he thinks that the process is flawed. Then again, why should the popular kids be the only ones to get elected and not unpopular kids like him? Big Nate initially tries replacing a comic strip in the newspaper, but he gets to know that the newspaper refuses strips that feature a hospital.
His best friend, Francis, convinces Nate to run for the post of President. Nate has to contest against the popular kids, Marcus and Lisa. Find out if Big Nate becomes Class President or if the popular kids win again. With Francis's help, he just might make it and have a chance of winning the election.
Big Nate: Mr. Popularity also has bonus activities at the back, like writing caption actions and matching sketches to strips. The book was published by HarperCollins in 2014 and is available as a paperback.
Lincoln Peirce (pronounced "purse") is a cartoonist/writer and New York Times bestselling author of the hilarious Big Nate book series (www.bignatebooks.com), now published in twenty-five countries worldwide and available as ebooks and audiobooks and as an app, Big Nate: Comix by U! He is also the creator of the comic strip Big Nate. It appears in over three hundred U.S. newspapers and online daily at www.gocomics.com/bignate. Lincoln's boyhood idol was Charles Schulz of Peanuts fame, but his main inspiration for Big Nate has always been his own experience as a sixth grader. Just like Nate, Lincoln loves comics, ice hockey, and Cheez Doodles (and dislikes cats, figure skating, and egg salad). His Big Nate books have been featured on Good Morning America and in the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, and the Washington Post. He has also written for Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Lincoln lives with his wife and two children in Portland, Maine.
