Pearson Phonics Bug - Alison Hawes
Part of the Bug Club family, Bug Club Phonics aims to help children learn to read by the age of six in a fun and accessible way. Following the order of Letters and Sounds, the Bug Club Phonics programme matches the National Curriculum and Early Learning Goals and ensures children read from books with the sounds they know as they are learning to read.
Alison is a full-time writer and has been publishing books for schools and libraries since 1998. Alison writes fiction and non-fiction titles for children aged four to fourteen writing over 300 titles to data and showing no signs of slowing down!
A prolific author, Alison's writing for Badger Learning includes a number of series' including Runway, Full Flight, Ignite, and First Flight as well as publishing non-fiction titles for our collections.
Previously, she has been an infant teacher, a classroom assistant, a playgroup helper, a respite carer and a literacy tutor for teenagers.
She grew up by the sea in Cornwall but now lives between the Downs and the sea in Sussex. When she has the time, she loves to go travelling to faraway places with her husband.
